Overview
The Director of Enterprise Data is responsible for leading our enterprise data infrastructure and analytics enablement, with a specific focus on Databricks for data engineering and Power BI for business intelligence. Responsible for building scalable data pipelines and data marts, optimizing cloud-based data platforms, and delivering clean, trusted, and timely data for analytics, reporting, and data science that supports a holistic data strategy across the enterprise. Serves as a critical bridge between the technical Data Engineering team and our Data Strategy/Analytics team supporting the delivery of data insights across the company while ensuring the company’s data assets are structured, governed, and leveraged in ways that deliver meaningful results while driving measurable business value, improve data quality, and optimize data accessibility and utility across departments.

Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, development, and operationalization of enterprise data solutions using Databricks on Azure and related services.
- Collaborate, build and sustain strong relationships with key business stakeholders across departments to define enterprise data needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Spearheads design and delivery of data marts critical for supporting company-wide analytics and reporting, collaborating closely with the analytics team to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Oversee the design and maintenance of robust Extract, Transform, Load (ETL)/Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) pipelines using Spark on Databricks to support batch and streaming data integration.
- Partners with technology teams to ensure data platforms (e.g., Databricks) are scalable, resilient, and aligned with business objectives.
- Manage competing departmental priorities and facilitate alignment toward a unified vision.
- Partner with data strategy, business analysis and business intelligence teams to ensure data availability, consistency, and quality.
- Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive data governance framework, including policies, standards, and stewardship programs.
- Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Manage SOX compliance for the data warehouse including, but not limited to, IT General Controls over systems and related ETL jobs in use (e.g., Logical Access Controls, Change Management, and Automated Job Error Notification and Resolution).
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required to have Bachelor's Degree in, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Management, or related field. Minimum 7 years of equivalent work experience is considered in lieu of degree requirements.
- Required minimum 10 years of experience in enterprise data engineering.
- Required minimum 5 years of leadership experience in enterprise data engineering.
- Required previous experience working with a data warehouse (Databricks preferred) that is used for Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) reporting. Preferred previous experience having stood up an enterprise data environment from the ground up.
- Required thorough understanding of compliance and regulatory regulations regarding publicly traded company, including but not limited to PHI, PII, PCI, HIPAA and SOX. Preferred experience with a healthcare company.
- Required expertise in ITIL-aligned practices including change management, SDLC, incident management, and project manager applying these frameworks to enterprise data platforms, data warehouse operations, and analytics environment.
- Preferred previous direct experience using Databricks and associated technical aspects of the system.
- Preferred extensive experience with Power BI, supporting broader governance, workspace management, and embedded analytics.
- Preferred expertise building and scaling data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Spark.
- Required experience leading enterprise data initiatives and transforming legacy data architectures that drive business results across clinical and administrative domains.
- Required experience managing data governance, security, metadata management, data lifecycle practices, and compliance programs.
- Preferred previous experience using Homecare Homebase (HCHB), PeopleSoft, or Tableau.
- Highly preferred previous experience in a home health or hospice setting.
- Oral communication, written communication, fluency in English, active listening.
- Demonstrated intermediate technology skills. Especially MS office, including word, powerpoint, and excel.
- Other than for designated full-time remote positions, in-office attendance is essential in order to achieve Enhabit objectives, including but not limited to, effective supervision, teamwork, task completion, and other position objectives.
