Overview

The Director of Accounting will serve as a partner to the operations leadership team, ensuring complete and timely financial statements and accurate maintenance of the general ledger. This role is responsible for managing and developing a high-performing accounting team, identifying areas for improvement, collaborating across departments to drive improvements, and delivering business insights based on routing financial analysis.

This position is located at 6688 N. Central Expressway, Dallas, TX 75206 and is expected to work onsite the first 10 business days of each month.

Hybrid eligible: Once fully trained, this position will be eligible to work remotely 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Financial Operations: Oversee the accurate posting of journal entries, preparation of comprehensive financial statements, and in-depth financial analysis.
  • Financial Statement Analysis: Analyze and summarize regional financial statements, ensuring complex entries are reviewed and supported.
  • General Ledger Management: Manage the precise preparation and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, ensuring all financial activities are accurately recorded.
  • SOX Compliance: Ensure full documentation and compliance with all controls and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements.
  • Operations Income Review: Provide insightful feedback on operations income statements and balance sheets, ensuring resolution of outstanding items.
  • Monthly Close Management: Efficiently manage the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Integration of Acquired Businesses: Oversee the seamless integration of accounting services for newly acquired businesses.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for updates to standard operating procedures, drafting and implementing effective solutions.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a high-performing accounting team, identifying areas for improvement and collaborating across departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in accounting is preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Must have at least 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including accounting leadership roles
  • Must have demonstrated experience in a management position.
  • Deep understanding of financial statements, general ledger management, and SOX compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in multi-location accounting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and team management abilities.
  • Experience in process improvement and change management is a plus.
