Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cash Application Specialist to join our team in Dallas, TX. As a vital member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing cash applications and payment posting processes across multiple states and locations. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial transactions, contributing to the overall success of our organization. 

 

  • Must work onsite, at the corporate office in Dallas, the first 3 business days of each month. 
  • Location: 6688 N. Central Expressway, Dallas, TX 75206
  • Once fully trained, this position can work remotely 2-3 days per week, preferably Wednesday-Friday.  

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret insurance EOBs and remittance advices
  • Post and reconcile ERA, EFT, cash, credit card, and check payments
  • Record all payments corresponding to the bank statement weekly
  • Ensure allowances, adjustments, and write offs are posted correctly
  • Investigate unidentified cash and resolve misdirected payments and recoupments
  • Research all remits corresponding to assigned company payments in Waystar
  • Balance daily posting batches to ensure accuracy and reconciliation
  • Maintain accurate Excel spreadsheet at the end of the month for assigned imported Medicare Payments
  • Scan EOBs and checks into software system

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in payment posting is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret remittance advices and explaination of benefits is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare billing and payment processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the healthcare industry preferred.
