Overview
The Administrative Assistant of Medicare Billing is responsible for the daily support of multiple teams within the company's financial operations department. Ensures that patients have an available advocate to manage requests for billing records and balance inquiries, and assists with the management, coordination, and processing of all invoices received for consolidated billing. Responsible for managing department correspondence and communication, and working with a cross-departmental team to ensure cash is received.

Responsibilities
- Manage the handling of hard copy checks, including documentation of receipt, creation of copies and scans, and delivery of checks to appropriate teams.
- Return hard copy "return-to-payor" checks utilizing cash spreadsheets for return details; document checks returned.
- Document hard copy checks intended for medical and billing record requests from third-parties; notify branches of payment as needed.
- Manage, track, and coordinate delivery of requests for billing records from either patients or third-parties; adhere to mandated deadlines and rules.
- Review, track, investigate, and coordinate with billing staff for processing invoices related to consolidated billing for home health.
- Manage receipt, distribution, and filing of revenue cycle department correspondence.
- Communicate urgent or abnormal correspondence and trends to supervisor timely.
- Provide support to branches and other billing staff.
- Manage incoming calls, after-hours voicemails, and emails; direct customers and internal staff appropriately.
- Identify and report issues attributing to inefficiencies within the department.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have previous experience with typing, clerical skills and computers.
- Must have basic demonstrated technology skills.
- Two years' demonstrated experience in healthcare or related billing functions is preferred.
